iCohere Continues Free Education Webcast Series with Focus on USAID SHOPS Virtual Conferences

Focus of June 23 interactive webcast, limited to 200 attendees, is Creating Successful Global Online Conferences: USAID SHOPS Case Study.

Walnut Creek, CA, May 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- To attend a face-to-face conference, you travel to a conference site. With an online ("virtual") conference, the conference site comes to you. Keynote addresses, breakout sessions, exhibit halls and live webcasts are all components of these meeting events. Virtual conferences can take place in both real time (synchronously) and any time (asynchronously)—they can extend your face-to-face annual meeting or be entirely online.

In this educational webcast, Ashleigh Hodge of Abt Associates will discuss the business and production aspects of their USAID SHOPS e-conference series. They will review a recent conference site and have time for lively audience Q&A

The USAID SHOPS 2-day technical conferences attract hundreds of attendees in over fifty (50) countries worldwide. The conferences contain a mix of live and pre-recorded sessions led by worldwide experts. Recent conference topics are Expanding Access to Finance for Health and Integrating Zinc into Diarrhea Management. All the online presentations are compliant with American Disabilities Act (ADA) Section 508 for computer users with disabilities.

Who should attend:

Those responsible for e-learning and support programs

Professional Development managers

Government meeting planners (SGMPs)

Those responsible for Technical Assistance programs

Key questions to be addressed include:

1) Strategy: What is the strategic purpose behind these online conferences? How are the conferences funded?

2) Production Logistics & Support: What are the main steps involved in planning? How are production roles determined? How much staff time is required?

3) Marketing and Communications: Do participants understand how to participate in an online conference? How far in advance are marketing efforts started? How is the marketing process for a virtual conference different from face-to-face meetings?

Note on Attendance

This webcast is for educational purposes only, is sponsored by iCohere, Inc., and contains no advertising. Webcast attendance is limited to the first 200 signups. No vendors, please.
